We have had our now 3 year old at Sunset since he was 9 months old and now have our 7 month old there. The lead teachers are wonderful as is the director, Helen. She has an open door policy, loves kids, proactively informs us of issues and is great. We love the baby room. It is sweet and loving. They are good at teaching the kids to respect one another , to share and many other social skills. The kids learn colors, words, letters, concepts and skills (large and small motor skills) all day. Reading is done many times a day. There is also a low student to teacher ratio. The kids are always SAFE. I never worry that my children are at risk of any type of abuse or danger.
The cons for sunset are two: 1. In every room we've been in, there is always a non-lead teacher that has a poor command of English-frequently using double negatives and such. 2. The snacks are really junkfood with no nutritional value and that much sugar has a negative influence on the kids learning and on their eating habits.
All in all, we've been really happy with Sunset. |
