After interviewing and visiting a number of potential daycare providers, we were referred to H&H by some neighbors. Now, almost 10 years and 2 kids later, it is amazing where the time has gone and how our little ones grew. Looking back, it was definitely the best choice we could have made for them. They both have grown up in a loving and caring environment and what they have learned is just phenomenal. From their growth in learning about God to the development of their social skills and ability to accomplish things. For instance, our 4 year old has penmanship better than a number of Kindergardners if not First Graders. They are continually encourages to explore new skills and to develop and master others. I also love that my 4 year old will come home and tell me all about everything that God has created for us. The staff has been phenomenal over the years and we feel like they are a part of our family. We even keep in contact with some of them that have moved on. It is not just us that feel that way either. The kids enjoy it when one of their teachers is able to come over and babysit for them while Mom and Dad go out. If we had to do it over again, I would definitely choose St Matthew Hearts and Hands again!

Hearts and Hands is more than a Child Development Center, it is an extension of our family. My children, ages 4 and 1 both started attending Hearts and Hands when they were 8 weeks old. Since day one I have felt very comfortable having my children attend the center. The staff is friendly and caring and the communication with the parents is excellent. I look forward to reading the daily write-up of my 1 year olds activities; it makes me feel as though I didn’t miss anything she did during the day. The weekly write-up for my 4 year old informs me as to what he has learned and categorizes it in to each subject. For example, one week they created a volcano and watched it irrupt, that was a great Science lesson. Many of the parents that send their children to Hearts and Hands are teachers, this means a lot that teachers trust Hearts and Hand’s pre-school curriculum. The most important lessons they offer are in the subjects of spiritual growth and community involvement, you can’t put a price tag on that! I highly recommend Hearts and Hands Child Development Center.

We love Hearts & Hands! The entire staff is caring and great with the kids. My daughter (almost 3) and I love the fact the it is a hands-on learning experince. The kids are all learning to socialize and developing their gross and small motor skills while having fun. I know she has had a good day when she comes home messy! Most days she doesn't even want to leave.

In February of 2006, I made my first visit to Hearts and Hands when I was just shy of five months pregnant. My husband and I were looking for a center in which we could feel comfortable with. Hard enough as it is to think of not being with your child 24/7, we had to make the choice of putting some of the care to our unborn child into someone else’s hands. With that in mind we wanted a place that felt like home. Upon walking into Hearts and Hands, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from the staff members. They say first impressions can last a lifetime and for me that first impression had melted my heart. Their philosophy is that each infant is different and therefore their schedules/routines vary. When a baby is hungry, they eat, if tired, they sleep. Many other centers put infants on the schedule that is easier for the entire "group", which is great when they reach a certain age, but for an infant it is necessary for “them” to be in charge. It was important for us to have a home away from home for God’s child in which I was carrying and this seemed like the place that could carry this out. Now, with two children attending Hearts and Hands and three years later, we look back on that very important decision and thank the Lord for guiding us to this child development center. They truly care for and develop a childs social, cognitive, and spiritual development, while keeping in mind their individual temperment and specific needs.

Hearts and Hands has been a part of our family for 7 1/2 years. From day one when my son was left for the very first time I have had nothing but peace on my heart. When I was a first time mom, leaving my child that first day was tough, but the ease of which the staff allowed me to pace myself was amazing. From that day forward I've never regretted a minute my children have spent there. My 3rd child is now attending there, and by time we're done, we will have had 3 children finish their early years at Hearts and Hands. There is no other place I would recommend. From their daily activities and their constant learning .. I've certainly learned when you are playing you are still learning. Daily Jesus time is also a fantastic perk. They nurture our children's spiritual growth as well as their emotional growth, physical growth and development age appropriately growth. Kudos to the fantastic staff.

I have been an elementary public school teacher for 11 years and currently have three young children, ages 2, 4 and 5 who attend Hearts & Hands. My background (experiences and degrees) is in early education and I am so impressed with the curriculum and how the staff follows developmentally appropriate practices. I have seen my children blossom at Hearts and Hands. As a third grade teacher, I am seeing more and more children that do not have some of the basic building blocks of social skills nor have they developed their fine motor coordination. Many children cannot use scissors and others have difficulty expressing themselves in an appropriate way. Over the years the trend has been to teach more curriculum at younger ages. The problem with this is that children are not developmentally ready. It’s like trying to teach a 3 month old to walk. It cannot be done, because developmentally they are not ready. Hearts and Hands understands this. Their focus is on teaching children, not merely on curriculum -which is a refreshing change. They take the children where they are and guide them to the next developmental stage. I also think that there is great communication with parents, using newsletters (complete with pictures of the children learning), and lesson plans. Weekly parent letters specifically tell me what my older children did for the week and I receive daily records of what my youngest son does each day- I know who he played with, what he did, when his diaper was changed, his moods, his naps, his experiences... etc. I am also impressed with the different activities that are planned to teach children about community service. The upcoming "Trike-a-thon" to raise money for St. Jude is just one example. My thanks go to the wonderful staff at Hearts & Hands for caring for my children. I could not be more impressed with my experiences thus far and feel blessed to have them as (it feels) an extended part of my family. I know that my chil
