Everyone at Shelby Childcare Development Center is super nice and they are always happy to see my child when she comes in. They make her feel special by greeting her in that way. I'm a single mother of a toddler that will be 2 in August... Until I took her to this facility, she was not speaking words at all. All she would say was Mama. She has been going there since March, and she now is saying uh oh, no, yes, more, thanks, shoo, and why. She is also understanding what I am saying to her. When I ask her to bring me her sippy cup, she will go get it and bring it to me.. She's at the age where she is throwing tantrums, however, I think her behavior is exponentially better because she attends school/daycare there. The staff is very patient, friendly, and happy. I've never seen any of them in a bad mood.
At first, because it was her first experience being away from me, they had to basically pry her off my neck, she was holding on so tight. They told me not to worry, that would go away. And it certainly did. Now she can't wait to go. She starts clapping her hands when we pull into the parking lot and can't wait to get inside.
It's also secure. There is a code lock on the door separating the classrooms from the kitchen and office. And, if at any time during the day, I can show up, stroll into the office, and watch my child on the closed circuit surveillance system that they have.
This is my first day care experience as well, and I couldn't be happier with their services. |
