I would have to disagree with NH Mom. I have 3 children currently enrolled there. I am a parent of a toddler, preschooler, and now a current kindergartener. I know several familes who have used Kiddie Academy for their kindergarten program. I would say they have been more than prepared for first grade and none of these chidlren were reccomended for transition. As for the chaos, there are timeswhere things may seem chaotic, but this is few and far between. I visited several other centers in this area before making a decision.. I was most impressed with the structure of this center, the way the classrooms are managed, and the continuos communication between staff. Director and Teacher alike. I would be more than willing to say that many families are this center are very happy. I will be asking friends that have children at this center to place a review too. I think its unfar to rate a center, especially when it sounds as if you;ve never been there. |

The previous reviewer sounds more like a disgruntled former employee than a parent, particuarly with her use of "early childhood buzzwords", and observations that could be gleaned only after spending an extensive amount of time in the classrooms. My son spent three years there and is thriving in first grade both socially and academically. The core staff was largely unchanged during the time my son attended. I would see them frequently at the many parent events held throughout the year. Teacher/parent communication is frequent and thorough and it is evident that management cares deeply for the children. I would gladly recommend Kiddie Academy without reservation to anyone in the marketplace. |

I would not send my child to this school. It is always in total chaos. They have such a huge turn around with the staff so the kids never have anyone to attach to. Kindergarten was a farce. It's basically the same as pre-school only they call it "school". Factual: MANY children have been recommended for transition when coming from Kiddie Academy. They are academically ready in most cases, but socially not at all ready. In my experience, there is no discipline at all and only "redirection" or "ignore the problem". I don't agree with *discipline* per se, but 'time outs' or making them sit and take a break is needed. After my child left the school, SO MANY moms came up to me and told me how unhappy they were with the school. They are all just afraid to say anything. And beware...the staff are 'very friendly' to your face, but not behind your back. And sometimes 'stomach virus' is something more serious, but they don't want to "scare the parents." I am friends with people who have worked there, and received the behind-the-scenes information about that place. Steer clear!!! |
