At Gingerbread Play House we invite children to play, explore, discover and learn using their imaginations! Our engaging play house is beautiful, joyful, print-rich and multi-culturally inclusive. Our mission is to provide exceptional and loving care to preschoolers, ages 3 to 5-years old, at affordable weekly rates that include kid-friendly and nutritious meals...all in the comfort of home.

We are all about LEARNING and use a play-based and mostly child-led program that follows the developmentally appropriate practice (DAP). Learning centers include our very own unique discovery & sensory area; a well-stocked block center; a dramatic play area (play kitchen, dress-up center, market place, kitchen table & baby station); a process art area with open-ended materials; a creation station/drawing area; a music center; a transportation area; a storytime & puppets area; giant chalk board/magnetic board center; large dollhouse & fairy treehouse; and, a Lego center. Our fenced-in backyard includes a mud pie kitchen, sandbox, mini-digging garden, water table; truck dirt pit w/big honkin' Tonka trucks and child-operated sand-digger crane; a slide; and, a bubble & potion station.

Children will experience a variety of hands-on sensory play with natural materials like sand, water, dough, clay, soil, seeds, pebbles, sea shells, pine cones, feathers and mud. We revel in loose parts play! We create authentic art using process art exploration techniques and open-ended materials. This is what early childhood learning is all about...exploring our world...and discovering our place in it!

Monthly newsletters help keep parents informed. Regular assessments and parent conferences keep parents posted on their child's progress and kindergarten readiness.
