I operate a preschool out of my home for children ages 2-5 yrs. I only take 6 students. My goal is to prepare them for kindergarten and life! My philosophy is that: Children learn best in a 'hands on' environment and through interacting with peers. The teachers role is to facilitate learning through asking 'open-ended questions'. I embed the Fl. V.P.K. education standards in our educational activities. We go on many field trips, learning about our environment. More important than what we learn is that we 'learn how to learn'. We must all be 'lifelong learners' in our ever changing world. My favorite quote is: "The object of teaching a child is to enable the child to get along without the teacher". (unknown author)
