The most crucial time in a child's life is from age newborn-5 years old. During this time, children should be exposed to as many different situations and environments as possible in order to learn independence, problem solving, social skills, and the basics before going to school. My daycare kids do not watch TV all day long. We spend lots of time learning, doing crafts, taking walks, playing at the playground, and playing independently as well as socially. Our preschool curriculum also doesn't stop in the summer, so if you have a preschooler you'd like to get prepared for school, I'd love to have them.
