At Chestnut Childcare we are dedicated provide a fun, nurturing, and educational environment for all ages. Our large in home daycare has 1400 sf of playspace and an edible play garden to ensure that everyone has plenty of room to play, explore, and learn. All of our programs include hands on nature exploration, crafting, and nutritious vegetarian meals. A significant portion of this food is grown and tended by the kids in our organic garden. Our program is facilitated by Heidi, a retired paramedic with a background in dance, yoga, and singing. She is also a former world champion powerlifter that has a passion for healthy nutrition and lifestyle. It is co facilitated by Jade who has a background in visual arts and is constantly improving her knowledge of primitive living skills including ethnobotany, shelter building, nature awareness, wild foraging and fiber crafts such as weaving and netmaking. She is the primary facilitator for our Nature Kids program. Chestnut childcare is also involved in many community events, sponsoring community youth projects including the Youth Garden Maze at the Orangevale Grange. Our location in Orangevale is easily accessible from Fair Oaks, Roseville, Granite Bay, Citrus Heights, and Folsom.
